Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate is a corticosteroid medicine that is used to reduce inflammation and suppress the immune response. Each dose is equivalent to 5 mg of Prednisolone. It is commonly prescribed for children to treat a variety of conditions where inflammation or an overactive immune system is involved. It works by mimicking the action of natural steroid hormones produced by the adrenal glands, helping to control swelling, allergic reactions, and other immune-related responses.

This medicine is used in the treatment of:

  • Allergic conditions such as asthma, eczema, and severe allergic reactions

  • Autoimmune diseases like juvenile rheumatoid arthritis

  • Inflammatory conditions including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and nephrotic syndrome

  • Certain respiratory disorders and chronic lung diseases

  • To manage severe infections in combination with other treatments (as prescribed by a doctor)

  • Other conditions where corticosteroid therapy is required to reduce inflammation and control symptoms
