  • Granisetron belongs to a group of medicines called antiemetics.

  • It works by blocking a chemical messenger in the brain (serotonin) that causes nausea and vomiting.

  • It is usually prescribed to children undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery to prevent or control vomiting.

Doctors may prescribe Granisetron 1 mg for:

  • Prevention of nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy.

  • Prevention of nausea and vomiting after radiation therapy.

  • Post-operative nausea and vomiting (after surgery).
