Granisetron belongs to a group of medicines called antiemetics.
It works by blocking a chemical messenger in the brain (serotonin) that causes nausea and vomiting.
It is usually prescribed to children undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery to prevent or control vomiting.
Doctors may prescribe Granisetron 1 mg for:
Prevention of nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy.
Prevention of nausea and vomiting after radiation therapy.
Post-operative nausea and vomiting (after surgery).
